Monmouthshire is a registered Fair Trade county and part of Fair Trade Wales. There are four Fair Trade Town groups in the county: Abergavenny, Chepstow, Monmouth and Usk. All groups aim to promote Fair Trade in Monmouthshire.
Fair Trade means:
- fair and stable prices – paid to producers and workers in developing countries.
- long term trading relationships – allows planning for the future.
- extra money – for community projects like schools and healthcare.
- improved working conditions and a better environment.
