Riverbank Toilets Refurbishment

Published: 09 February 2024

Chepstow Town Council is pleased to announce that the public toilets at the Riverbank are now reopened following a 10 week refurbishment programme. The Council, as part of its budget setting process, earmarked £45,000 plus a 10% contingency fund in 2023 and committed to have this project completed by end of the financial year. Following the required public sector procurement process the Council appointed Cherry Build to undertake the refurbishment who completed on time and within budget.

Despite inclement weather conditions, Chepstow Town Council celebrated the grand reopening of the Riverbank Toilets adjacent to the Bandstand on 08/02/2024. The completion of this significant project marks a milestone in the Council's ongoing efforts to improve public amenities within the community.

The refurbished facilities boast a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics while preserving the historic charm of the conservation area. Noteworthy enhancements include the addition of a dedicated baby changing facility within the disabled toilets, ensuring inclusivity and convenience for all visitors.

Accessibility remains a top priority, with provisions made for access to the disabled toilets through the use of a radar key. To further facilitate accessibility, a key will be readily available adjacent to the door during the designated opening hours. The Riverbank Toilets will operate daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with adjusted winter hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Chepstow Town Council extends its gratitude to all involved in the successful completion of this project. The Council remains dedicated to serving the community and enhancing public amenities for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
