Booking the Drill Hall for your Event

The Hall can be hired for a wide range of events including:

  • Club and society meetings
  • Community and social events
  • Some private parties
  • Theatre, concert and cinema performances
  • Lectures, conferences, sales, exhibitions and day schools
  • Some commercial uses
  • The Drill Hall is now licensed for weddings, and the ceremony can be followed by the reception, meal and evening party, all in the same place

The management committee wish to make the Hall easily available for the whole community but will not accept any bookings that have the potential to cause damage to the reputation or the fabric of the Hall.

  • The Hall can seat 250 for lectures, theatre, concerts, cinema or conferences.
     240 dancing.  178 seated at tables and dancing
  • There is a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of plates crockery and cutlery and glasses and an industrial dishwasher with a three-minute cycle time.
  • The Hall is licensed for most forms of entertainment and the sale of alcohol. This makes it an ideal venue for charity events as it presents an opportunity for the organisation to profit from the sale of drinks.
  • There is a large stage with theatre lighting and two dressing rooms each with their own toilet facilities
  • All parts of the Hall are fully accessible for wheelchair users
  • There are conference and lecture facilities including a sound system with radio microphone display screens, projection screens, a data, overhead and slide projectors etc. These are available to hire at an additional cost.

Weddings and Wedding Receptions
We realise these are special occasions that require unique and specific organisation for each event.
We therefore endeavour to help where we can to make everything run smoothly.

Weddings with afternoon receptions £250

09:00 to midnight)

Security Deposit 
 £100 for local residents and general use.
£200 for Commercial/Receptions, Dance and Shows
