Getting to Chepstow

Chepstow has attractions for every visitor.  With many unique and individual places to shop and eat were you are guaranteed a warm welcome.  There are a wide range of activities throughout the year from Hoggin The Bridge, producers markets, Chepstow Festival, and our Chepstow Heritage Trail. By Road

  • From the East
    Take the M4 exiting at M48 Junction 21 (Follow signs for Chepstow).
     Take Severn Bridge crossing (toll charges apply) and then take 3rd exit from roundabout (A466) At next roundabout take 3rd exit (A48) and follow town centre signs.
  • From the West
    Take the M4 exiting at M48 Junction 23 (Follow signs for Chepstow)
     Take 1st exit at Junction 2 (A466). At next roundabout take 3rd exit (A48) and follow town centre signs.
  • From the North
    Exit M5 (southbound) at Junction 8 (M50). Continue until Junction 1 and take A40 signed for Monmouth. As you are approaching Monmouth continue on A40 until you reach traffic lights then Turn Left over bridge and follow signs for Chepstow (A466)

By Bus

  • Chepstow bus station is approximately a 5 minute walk from the town centre.

By Rail

  • Chepstow railway station is approximately a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
    Direct services operate from Gloucester and Cardiff, from London via Newport, and Bristol via Severn Tunnel Junction. Bristol Parkway is a 20 minute drive away.

By Air 

  • Bristol Airport - approximately 30 miles.
  • Cardiff Airport - approximately 45 miles. 

By Cycle

  • Chepstow can be reached by two main Sustrans routes Nos 4 and 42
